Unique Locations

I have had extensive experience shooting in unique locations and environments. As an urban exploration photographer from 2008-2015, I explored numerous abandoned industrial sites, architectural icons, mines, and manufacturing facilities. Working with other photographers and historians, we documented much of the disappearing industrial history and ruins across the United States and Europe. This includes massive industrial facilities like Bethlehem Steel, Kennecott Copper Mine in Alaska, the Detroit Michigan Central Train Station, the Paris Catacombs, and more. Many sites were highly inaccessible deep in the wilderness, or in dense urban settings, and required a skill to navigate and access, and respect for the safety of ourselves and the public. Large format cinema productions

I have worked with the Alexa 65 and worked on IMAX productions including Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice (Camera Operator).

COMFORTABLE ON THE WATER

Having grown up on an inland lake in Michigan, and spending a lot of time vacationing and camping on the shores and islands of Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, and Lake Huron, I am very comfortable on, around, and even above the water.

Helicopter Trained

I am trained as an operator on helicopters for Tyler and gyro systems.

Large Format Photography

Working with large format film photography cameras in difficult to access environments prepared me well for working with large format cinema cameras in similar situations. This includes photography on medium format, large format, and 6x17cm format film.

VIRTUAL PRODUCTION / VOLUME

I have been working extensively on Virtual Production / LED Volume shoots since 2021, and keep up with the most cutting edge of technology in cinematography & filmmaking. I have shot numerous projects on volume including an Epic Megagrant recipient film and many commercials. I am also experienced with using Unreal Engine to scout, previs, and plan complex shoots.
